Michaela Pishia

Michaela is a Core Surgical Trainee with a growing passion for medical education and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Learning and Teaching. She has worked as a Clinical Teaching Fellow and a Clinical Education Fellow at Imperial College London, with a focus on curriculum and assessment design and development. She has led undergraduate OSCE case writing and blueprinting, and supported the organisation and delivery of large-scale exams for 300+ students, working with examiners and simulated patients.

She is particularly interested in developing assessment that is fair, educationally impactful, and aligned with curricular outcomes. She is an advocate for creating psychologically safe learning environments that help students and trainees build both technical and non-technical skills. She is highly motivated to support and advance surgical education across both undergraduate and postgraduate training, and is keen to contribute to collaborative regional initiatives that strengthen teaching quality and learner experience.
