About Us

Our Vision

The Yorkshire Educational Surgeons (YES) Collaborative is a network for those interested in surgical education in Yorkshire and beyond. We are dedicated to promoting excellence in surgical education, fostering collaboration among educators, and providing resources and support for the advancement of surgical training and teaching methodologies. Our aim is to create a dynamic platform for sharing knowledge, best practice, and innovative approaches in surgical education.

We pursue this aim in a number of ways:

Courses - Our primary focus is developing courses for surgical trainees to prepare them for examinations, job interviews, and their careers going forward.
Research - We are undertaking original surgical education research, with the aim of generating new knowledge in the field and strengthening the case for the professionalisation of surgical trainers.
Network and mentorship - We recognise that many people are interested in surgical education but aren't sure how to get started. Through our extensive network of local surgeons, educational leaders, and industry representatives, we offer advice and support to trainees navigating their education needs.
